What is an adidas shovel made of?

In this collection, we work with six fibers. Each fiber has a different flexibility, and this property allows us to assess the power and comfort of the blades. The more flexible the fiber, the better the ball output and comfort. With less flexible fiber, we obtain greater power from the racket. In aggressive or higher speed strokes, less flexibility allows the rubber to return the ball more and to come out at greater speed. With the paddle static or in low-speed strokes , greater flexibility allows the paddle rubber to work harder and achieve a greater ball bounce.

Rubbers

Rubber is a key aspect when it comes to a padel racket's performance; it's the soul of the racket. At adidas, we work with three EVA foams that differentiate the performance of each racket. They are identified by the color of the racket's cap (red, blue, and black).

Density is the main property of the rubber and what defines its memory. Memory is the rubber's ability to return to its initial position in less time. Higher density results in greater power, and lower density results in greater comfort.

  • For aggressive or higher speed shots, greater memory will allow the rubber to recover faster and propel the ball at greater speed.
  • With a static paddle or in low-speed strokes, a lower density allows the ball to be pushed efficiently and with greater momentum.
EVA foam with increased memory. Increases power on high-speed shots. Suitable for more technically advanced players. Identified by the red cap.
Improved-density rubber provides exceptional ball output without losing power. Blades with SOFT ENERGY rubber are identified by the blue cap .
Low-density EVA foam provides excellent ball output and comfort during play. The black cap identifies paddles with SOFT PERFORMANCE foam.

Power technologies

Power technologies allow for more efficient optimization of a player's energy. The determining factor when referring to power is structural rigidity, which prevents the energy applied by the player with each shot from dissipating.

eXoskeleton

100% carbon ribs inserted into the frame and core structure. This increases the power and structural rigidity of the blade. The eXoskeleton is a hallmark of ESSNOVA blades .

Dual eXoskeleton

Evolution of eXoskeleton technology. Double-height ribs that reinforce the core and frame, allowing the player to exert their full energy with every shot. This is the technology that characterizes ADIPOWER paddles .

Octagonal Structure

Exclusive octagonal frame design. The eight edges stiffen the structure, making the METALBONE rackets ideal for the most aggressive players.

Power Embossed

An outer rib on the frame provides greater rigidity. Designed for the most aggressive blades , allowing us to achieve greater power when hitting.

Structural Power

Double fiber insert in the core of the blade provides greater structural rigidity, thus increasing power in play. This is the core technology of the RX200 Light .

Structural Power

Mold designed with a fiber insert in the center of the blade's heart that provides greater structural rigidity, thus increasing the power of the RX300 blade in play.

Effect Technologies

Effect technologies allow the player to apply greater spin to the ball thanks to the roughness of the paddle face.

Spin Blade

3D relief to increase impact efficiency. Provides improved impact on the most demanding shots. Available in three types:

Personalization

Every match is unique. Each opponent demands something different from your game: more power on aggressive shots or greater comfort on defense. You don't always need the same things from your racket, which is why we've developed technology that allows you to adapt the characteristics of your racket to each match.

Weight and Balance System

This is the technology that characterizes the Metalbone range. A system of six screws of different weights that allow you to vary the weight and balance of the racket depending on the demands of your next match. Players can choose how to adapt their METALBONE to the needs of the match .

  • If we leave the weights on, the balance of our METALBONE will be in the mid-low part of the blade. This will primarily give us more CONTROL.
  • If we remove the weights , we will be able to lower the weight and raise the balance up to 1.5cm. In this way, we will achieve more inertia in the attack strokes and therefore more POWER .
